Heating Calculator

Want to install new space heaters or simply offset heat loss? Whether for an office building or single family home, an amphitheater or a cubicle, we have the solution for you!

The heat loss calculator will help you determine approximately how much power is needed to heat each room individually. Just fill in the appropriate boxes, and the result in kilowatts will help you choose the space heater best suited to your needs.

It should be noted that the heat loss calculator assumes that temperatures do not drop below -30 ºC (-22 ºF) in winter, and is designed for structures built in the 1980s or later with the following characteristics:
  • Ceiling height 8 ft (2.4 m)
  • Standard insulation (wall = R20 and ceiling = R30)
  • Inside temperature at 21 °C (70 °F)
Remember that a building's heat-trapping potential depends largely on construction and insulation quality.
